P1 children baked soda bread, linking to our nursery rhyme of the week - Pat-a-Cake. We had a wonderful discussion about the equipment and ingredients we needed to make our bread. The children were able to name all of these and talk about how is was similar to making play dough. We used scales to measure the correct quantities, and we were careful to ensure that each ingredient weighed the required amount.
Each child had the opportunity to help out and most importantly taste our yummy bread!!
